(Simcoe, Norfolk County)  Due to the issuance of a smog advisory by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Services wishes to remind people that open air burning is not allowed to be conducted while a smog advisory is in effect. This applies to open air burning in the rural areas of the county through an open air burning permit as well as all approved burning devices and recreational fires.
Residents can contact the fire prevention bureau of Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Services at 519 426 4115 ext. 2402 if they have any questions about open air burning, or wish to find out where and when open air burning can be conducted. Open air burning information can also be viewed on our web-site located at www.norfolkcounty.ca
