Superior Tanker Shuttle Accreditation testing

Fire Stations in Courtland, Langton, Port Rowan and St. Williams have received Superior Tanker Shuttle Service Accreditation.

Superior Tanker Shuttle Service accreditation is considered equivalent to hydrant protection and is recognized by a majority of insurance providers in Canada. The accreditation demonstrates our ability to fight fires in rural areas quickly and effectively by providing a continuous flow of water to fire scenes not serviced by municipal hydrants.

What Does the Accreditation Mean to Rural Residents?
Most importantly, the Superior Tanker Shuttle Service Accreditation means that Norfolk County Fire & Rescue Services has demonstrated improved ability to transport water to rural fire scenes to better protect our citizens.

Residents in rural areas that are within 8 km by road of the fire stations located in Courtland, Langton, Port Rowan or St. Williams; and 5 km by road of an approved water supply point may receive a reduction on their insurance premiums.

Residents are encouraged to contact their insurance agents for details regarding their specific policies and if your address is in an accredited area.

Norfolk County Fire & Rescue Services are continuing their efforts to certify additional rural areas in the coming months.
