(Vittoria, Norfolk County) On October 1, 2012 at approximately 2:40 am Norfolk County Fire & Rescue Services responded to a reported tractor trailer fire located at 1250 St Johns Rd W.

Upon arrival firefighters discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from 3 truck trailers. Heavy equipment was utilized in breaking apart the trailers to assist firefighters in dealing with the fire which was brought under control in approximately 2 hours. No injuries to residents have been reported and no firefighters were injured during the operation.

Norfolk County fire stations 1 (Simcoe), 2 (Port Dover), 10 (St Williams) and 11 (Vittoria) were dispatched as well as the Ontario Provincial Police.

The total dollar loss is estimated to be $40,000. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
